Baldivis Senior High School
With over 18 years of experience in education, Dwayne has dedicated his career to empowering students and closing the opportunity gap. He began his journey in 2007 as a graduate English teacher in Fitzroy Crossing, an experience that deeply shaped his understanding of the challenges faced by students in remote communities. Three years later, he stepped into my first leadership role as Deputy Principal at Mount Magnet DHS, marking the beginning of a career focused on fostering student success and driving sustainable change.
Throughout his career, Dwayne has held various leadership positions across remote, regional, and metropolitan secondary schools. Central to his leadership philosophy is the belief that closing the opportunity gap for students must remain the core focus of all educational work. He is committed to ensuring that every decision made and every action taken works toward providing equitable access to high-quality education for all students.
In his current role as a member of the Management Committee Dwayne strives to advocate for the best interests of WASSEA members and ensure their voices are heard. He is passionate about fostering an environment where all members feel equally represented and supported. Furthermore, he is dedicated to attracting and retaining aspirant school leaders, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary resources and opportunities to thrive.
